Feasibility Studies

Before developing a full set of drawings, establish whether the property and the proposed program can work together. We help owners and developers define the questions that matter first.

Define the decision

You may be comparing properties, considering an addition, planning a new building or exploring a change in how a building is used. We begin with the proposed spaces, the priorities for the project and the decision the study needs to support. This keeps the work focused on information you can use.

Bring records and design together

A feasibility review can combine available property records, an initial zoning review, existing drawings and concept-level planning. The agreed scope may include a preliminary space program, layout options or massing studies, with the assumptions behind each option made clear.

Identify the coordination questions early

A concept can raise structural, mechanical, access or filing questions that affect the next stage. We identify where further information is needed and coordinate with the appropriate affiliated practice. An early study helps define the work ahead; detailed engineering and agency review follow under their respective scopes.

Choose a practical next step

We discuss the findings, the information still needed and the additional design or consultant work that may be appropriate. The result is a clearer basis for deciding whether to proceed, revise the program or investigate another approach. Construction pricing, surveys and specialist investigations are included only when expressly agreed.

Common questions

How is feasibility different from zoning analysis?

Zoning analysis focuses on the rules and documents affecting a property. Feasibility connects that review with your intended program, preliminary design options and practical coordination questions.

Does a study guarantee approval or construction cost?

No. The study identifies a preliminary direction and its assumptions. Approvals, detailed technical design and construction pricing require their own work and review.
